Relationships with people suffering from drug or alcohol related issues can feel like torture; watching while someone you love is suffering and feeling powerless to change their situation. Many drug and alcohol services are offered for the individuals with an addiction but what about the people surrounding those who are addicted? The domino effects are often far-reaching, crossing generations and touching the wider community through our relationships. Joseph’s Corner is a unique professional counselling service for families, friends and carers that aims to stop the spread of these adverse effects.

Counselling Program and Counsellors Print E-mail

I’m delighted to be able to contribute to this edition of Joseph’s Corner newsletter on behalf of Australian Catholic University (ACU), in particular the School of Psychology. Last year Sr. Jeanne contacted the University, through the fortunate association of Margaret Harrington, with a request to assist Joseph’s Corner management in the task of replacing the Centre’s counsellor. I was only too pleased to help out with the selection process and as you now know we have a full range of counselling support in place at Yarraville, Hoppers’ Crossing and Laverton.
